11 Heads Of State Confirm Attendance Of The Blue Economy Conference
11 Heads of State have confirmed attendance for next week’s Blue Economy Conference in Nairobi, as well as delegates from 180 countries.
The conference was preceded by a global fundraising mission for Ksh800 million for Kenya which has reportedly been achieved with a number of governments and non-governmental bodies coming through.
It will also include experts and participants from UN and regional bodies, academic and scientific organizations, civil societies, the business and private sectors to discuss an economy concept powered largely by oceanic and marine resources.
The conference will be co-hosted by Canada and Japan and will feature nine separate events including a leader’s commitment segment, a business forum, private sector forum, governors and mayor’s forum, AND a research and science symposium forum, among others.

The three-day high-level conference will focus on new technologies and innovation for oceans, seas, lakes and rivers as well as challenges, potential opportunities, priorities and partnerships.
