Chams Media, a communication consultancy firm associated with TV personality Alex Chamwada, has launched its first ever regional office in Lodwar, Turkana County.
This is the first office to be launched by the company away from Nairobi.
Speaking during the launch, Chamwada, who is the company CEO termed Turkana and the North Rift region as a “goldmine of interesting stories” that are yet to be told to the world.
“For us, opening this office is a step further in our vision to position ourselves in this region that has many positive untold stories. We will traverse the entire North Rift region whose population is about 10 million. The region is goldmine of interesting stories in various sectors including trade, tourism, environment, agriculture, culture, sports and peace building,” he said.
The office will cover Turkana, Samburu, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Baringo counties, which Chamwada says have been marginalised in terms of content creation and distribution.
“Devolution has brought visible social economic transformation in the so called marginalized areas of Kenya. Why not devolve content creation too?” posed Chamwada.
The company, famously known for its Daring Abroad docu-series also produces features, infomercials and commercials.
In September 2020, Chamwada signed an agreement with Nation Media Group to use his content on NTV.
Mid this month, Chams Media inked a partnership deal with Co-operative Bank of Kenya that gave birth to a new weekly show on NTV.
The show titled Ushirika is a 10-minute docu-series that features trends in Kenya’s cooperative movement.
The new show added to Chamwada’s Daring Abroad show that also runs on NTV Kenya every Saturday at 7.30 PM (EAT), and a repeat every Sunday at 1.30 PM (EAT).
