BAKE Awards 2020 Postponed Indefinitely

The Bloggers Awards Kenya popularly known as BAKE Awards have been postponed indefinately, following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The organisers say that the awards which were scheduled for June 2020 were postponed due to the uncertainty caused by Covid-19.

“We are, therefore, postponing the judging process, the online voting and the BAKE Awards Gala, which was slated for June this year.

The BAKE Awards 2020 was launched on February 1, 2020, and coincided with the submission phase where we accepted submissions in various categories. The submission phase ended on March 20, 2020. The judging phase was supposed to commence on March 23, 2020, but due to the health crisis, the process was delayed, and later postponed indefinitely.

“We are devastated to cancel this celebration of the efforts Kenyan bloggers have made to generate and promote creative, innovative and quality content. In this time of a global health crisis, the health and safety of our members and Kenyans in general paramount. As the crisis continues to evolve, we urge everyone to follow all directives put forward by the Ministry of Health,” the organisers said in a blog post.

“For now, we will continue to support bloggers as we have always done and when the crisis is over, we will honour the bloggers for the good work they continue to do,” the added.
