Benson Ndung’u Announced New KPMG East Africa CEO

KMPG East Africa has announced Benson Ndung’u as its newly elected Senior Partner and CEO-elect.

His election will see him succeed Josphat Mwaura who had served the firm for 10 years.

Mr Ndung’u is expected to assume his role effective from 1 September 2019.

Speaking after the announcement of his election to the firm’s staff, Mr Ndung’u noted: “I am deeply honoured and humbled by the trust that the Partners have placed on me.

“My commitment is to continue to take advantage of the immense opportunities in this market to achieve the strategic aspirations that we have set ourselves,” Ndung’u added.

Before his election, he was the Head of Tax in East Africa.

He is the immediate former Managing Partner of KPMG in Uganda, a role he served between 2007 and 2017.

Mr Ndung’u was admitted partner in 2007 and is noted to have over 20 years of post qualification experience in audit and tax across various industries.

Before Ndung’u fully assumes his role, he will work closely with Josphat for the next five months to ensure what the firm refers to as a ‘smooth transition.’
