As part of celebrations being held around the world, marking International Writer’s Day, BIC® East Africa chose to recognize and appreciate 40 influential writers in Kenya whose written words have a positive influence on the lives of so many. The writers were awarded special limited edition gold and silver pens and a highly esteemed BIC certificate to encourage them to keep up the writing spirit.

We all remember writing as a core element at the beginning of our educational journey and many progressed into using our writing to change individual lives and communities.
Over the course of over 70 years, thanks to its minimalist design and unparalleled performance- the BIC Crystal Pen is not only an integral part of our daily lives but also of our cultural heritage. The simple tool accompanies us in our daily lives at home, in the office, and at school, and a design object that can be found in the Museum of Modern Art/Centre George Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA).
“On this International Writer’s Day, we at BIC East Africa are excited to recognize and appreciate the writers’ contribution to the written word. We appreciate you for the words you write and share with so many. Your writing, inspires, uplifts, informs responsibly, brings diversity through art in the form of literature, song and poetry into the lives of readers in Kenya and around the world.”, expresses Michael Sinaclar BIC East Africa General Manager.
