Africa’s fastest sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala has inked a multi-million deal with Adidas, one of the world’s leading sports brand.
Omanyala has inked a three-year deal with an option to extend for another one year depending on his form on the track.
The deal will see Adidas cater for his traveling expenses and accommodation during national and international events. The package deal also involves bonuses on every gold medal he clinches as well as records he breaks.
“The deal is good money, they will sponsor my travelling, knitting and bonuses for every win that I get. The money is a lot, it has surpassed millions,” disclosed Omanyala.
Following the sponsorship deal, the sprinter has announced that he will hop into the 200-metre race in a bid to expand his territories.
“There are technicalities that I am yet to learn, but I will try. I will run the 200 metres and 100 metres which will be the mega race,” he added.
In 2021, Omanyala shot to fame after breaking the African 100m record.
He was later adopted by the National Police Service in December 2021 to represent the security forces in future competitions.
Recently, he landed another multi-million deal with AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest global AIDS organization, to encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
