Faith Basiye, Kenya Commercial Bank’s (KCB) Head of Forensic Services describes herself on Linked In as an expert in legal advisory, fraud risk management, policy and framework development in fraud risk areas.
At the KCB Group, she is responsible for providing strategy on financial crime management across the Group.
In the corridors of the lender, she has another crown dubbed “sponsyo”, a slang name for sponsor thanks to her unofficial role at the KCB Rugby Club.
According to sources, Ms Basiye has been interfering with training, severally frustrating the development of the team.
Worse still, Basiye, who is a permanent feature at the KCB Rugby Club training sessions is said to be having affairs with a number of players. This in turn has led to distraction and disunity in the team, greatly affecting performance.
“Sometimes she comes with liqour, like Chrome and Konyagi, that she gives to the players. This makes players lose their sobriety and sense of direction. This has also contributed to cases of indiscipline in the team. AShe organises weekly parties in her house that sometimes culminate into orgies,” said a source who sought anonymity.
During the just concluded Kenya Cup League, KCB Rugby Club relinquished their Kenya Cup title dreams after losing to Menengai Oilers in the semi-finals 24-17.
The last time KCB had failed to qualify for the finals was in 2016 when they lost 8-7 to Impala Saracens. Since then, they had qualified for four consecutive finals winning all.
Recently, Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar bagged its second title of the season after edging out the lions 9-6 to be crowned the Enterprise Cup champions.
Having worked for the lender for some time now, Basiye has entrenched favouritism for the people she ‘likes’.
Basiye previously worked for Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, and for Archer and Wilcock Advocates.
