James Mburu Appointed To Replace John Njiraini As KRA Commissioner General

James Githii Mburu is the next Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich has announced.

Mburu will take over from the current commissioner General John Njiraini from July 1, and serve for a period of three years.

Mburu is the current KRA Intelligence and Strategic Operations Commissioner.

Mburu beat 30 Kenyans who had applied for the position, with five being shortlisted.

Julius Waita Mwatu, Richard Buru Ndung’u, Andrew Kazora Okello and Duncan Otieno Onduru.

Last year, the KRA Board had extended Njiraini’s tenure by one year following a Presidential directive.
