President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Jamleck Muturi as the new Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) chairman.
Alfred Otieno Oyucho has also been appointed as a member of the TSC board.
Muturi’s appointment follows the retirement of Dr Lydia Nzomo.
Dr. Muturi will serve for an initial term of three years; with an option of his term being extended. According to the TSC Act, the Chairperson is supposed to serve for a maximum of 2 terms; of three years each. He beat six other contestants to emerge top in the interviews.
Currently, he is serving as the CEC for Education, Science and Technology in the Embu County Government.
