Jobless First Class Degree Holder Gets A Job As HR Manager

Ruth Jemutai Rono, the jobless Chuka University graduate, has been offered employment as a human resources manager at Seven Meals Limited.

Seven Meals is a non-governmental firm headquartered in Utawala that deals in economic empowerment.

Charles Muriuki, the founder of the firm, says on top of that, Ms Rono, 27, will earn a monthly salary of Ksh30, 000 while on a 3-month training-cum-probation period.

She would, thereafter, be retained in the human resources department, or deployed to the finance unit “depending on her strengths”, Mr Muriuki said.

On top of that, Ms Rono’s siblings will be educated and housed in Nairobi, courtesy of Mr Muriuki.

“Three of her siblings are in primary school. We will fly them to Nairobi and they will be enrolled at Lakewood Premier School in Utawala, where my children study. The 2-bedroomed house that we have rented for her for the next 6 months in Utawala, will house her and her siblings,” said Mr Muriuki.

“We have already identified and furnished the house,” added the Good Samaritan.

Ms Rono’s name and photos have been the talk of town after her story went viral.

Despite getting a first class degree from Chuka University in 2015, Ms Rono could not get a job hence being forced to stay at home to take care of her sick mother and siblings.
