Kenya Ports Authority Appoints Rashid Salim as Acting Managing Director
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Board has appointed Rashid Salim as acting Managing Director following resignation of Daniel Manduku.
Salim will take over immediately, since Manduku announced that he would be heading to a terminal leave until June 1 when his resignation takes effect.
Salim, who was appointed at KPA on September 1, 1982, as a marine engineer trainee.
Currently, he is the general manager for engineering services at KPA.
“We have just come from the board meeting, he is a long-serving member at KPA, he has 38 years of experience and knows his job,” said KPA board chairman Joseph Kibwana.

Manduku was appointed to the helm of KPA since 2018 May, after his predecessor Catherine Mturi. He becomes among the shortest serving MDs at the parastatal.
Recently, he was arrested in connection with fraudulent lease of extra storage space for containers by KPA.
He was arraigned but later released without charged.
