Dusit D2 Hotel Sends 250 Employees Home After Closure
Dusit D2 hotel has suspended its operations following reduced profitability in the wake of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Consequently, over 250 employees have been rendered jobless.
The suspension of international flights is closely associated with the closure of the hotel, which is synonymous with high profile customers and tourists.
Yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto’s Weston Hotel announced plans for temporary closure as from Monday, March 30 following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a notice, the hotel management did not specify for how long it would be closed.

“In view of the precautionary guidelines given in response to curbing the spread of the COVID-19 Corona virus, with your health and wellness being our utmost priority; we would like to inform you that we will be temporarily closed as from Monday 30th March 2020 until further notice,” the notice read in part.
Kamel Park in Kisii, the biggest hotel in South Nyanza region, suspended all its operations as well as the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, one of Kisumu’s prime hotels.
ACK Guesthouse managed by the Anglican Church of Kenya in Homa Bay County also announced closure this week.
Kenya has so far recorded 31 coronavirus cases, one death and one recovery.
Two cases are in the ICU.
