Governor Mutua Set To Receive Ksh50 Billion From Donors For Development
Machakos County governor Dr Alfred Mutua yesterday received promise of Ksh50 billion from donors for development.
This was announced in a round table meeting of the governor with Local and International Development Partners, including Ambassadors, Head of Missions, Head of United Nations Bodies, Head of representatives of international funding organizations and global and continental development banks among others.
“I called for this meeting because it is important to harness resources so as to roll back poverty and propel our people from Third World to First World status within the shortest time possible. The needs of our people cannot be accommodated with the resources availed by the national government and our own collections,” said Mutua.

“My government is committed to ensuring all resources, both local and international are used prudently and only for the intended purpose. We are cognizant of the fact that the external resources we receive are from taxes by citizens of other countries or sacrifice by philanthropic individuals,” added Mutua.
