Kenya Railways Suspends Food Ban Directive On SGR
An uproar by Kenyans has forced the Kenya Railways (KR) to suspended a directive the banned customers fromcarying foodstuffs and beverages into the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) rides.
The management, in a notice, said that the ban had elicited angry reactions from its customers, forcing negotiations with its service providers to “offer improved services.”
“KR wishes to inform our esteemed customers that a decision has been taken to suspend the directive until further notice to allow for the conclusion of the negotiations,” said KR.

However, the ban on alcoholic drinksis still on, as they will not be allowed into the termini and stations.
Hours after the directive was issued last week, a woman boarding the trains in Mombasa stripped naked after officials confiscated food she had carried for her baby.
