Willis Raburu has left Cape Media’s TV47 barely a year after joining the company

Raburu joined TV47 on August 27, 2023, after exiting Citizen TV where he had worked for 13 years.

 His exit comes months after he was appointed as Director of Digital Services and Innovation at Cape Media.

“As I bid farewell to the TV47 family, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together over the past few months,” Raburu said.

At the station, Raburu hosted the Wabebe XP (experience) every Friday at 10 pm.

Recently, Raburu announced that his ‘Wabebe Experience’ show was taking a break from Air. He used to host the show alongside Mc Gogo and Claudia Naisabwa. 

“We would like to announce that Wabebe Experience will be taking a SEASON BREAK. We sincerely thank our viewers for their continued support and enthusiasm,” Raburu said.

“Rest assured, we are working diligently behind the scenes to come back BIGGER AND BETTER than ever. Stay tuned for updates on our return! We love you and appreciate you so much.”

Raburu’s media career

Raburu started his career in the media in 2010 at Citizen TV where he joined as an intern.

He worked at Citizen TV for 13 years in various capacities, including reporter, news anchor, and TV presenter for Citizen TV and Hot 96.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences from Moi University and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus on Strategic Corporate Communications at USIU.

He has won multiple awards for some of the human interest stories he has done, including The Road Safety Award for the ‘Killer Drivers’ Series, the Maji Award for his series ‘Deadly Waters’ and The Children Rights Award for a Rwanda series on the journey of resilient children.
