Safaricom Launches Maisha Poa Ni Digital Campaign to Accelerate Digital Inclusion

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has today unveiled a new nationwide campaign dubbed “Maisha Poa Ni Digital”, aimed at accelerating digital inclusion by enabling more Kenyans to transition from 2G feature phones to affordable 4G smartphones.
The campaign seeks to empower millions of Kenyans particularly those in rural and peri-urban communities by giving them access to affordable entry-level 4G+ smartphones. Each purchase of a 4G+ device will come with a free data bundle of 5.5GB. To ease the cost, the phones can be bought through a flexible payment plan on Lipa Mdogo Mdogo, with as low as Ksh. 500 deposit and Ksh. 30 daily instalments.

The Maisha Poa Ni Digital campaign builds on Safaricom’s long-standing efforts to support digital transformation in Kenya. Over the past few years, the telco has expanded its 4G network to reach over 97% of Kenya’s population, while also investing in initiatives that support smartphone penetration and digital literacy.
The campaign aligns with Safaricom’s broader purpose of transforming lives and ensuring that every Kenyan can be part of the digital economy. By migrating users from 2G to 4G, the campaign enhances access to platforms like M-PESA, eCitizen, educational content, and healthcare apps services that are increasingly essential in everyday life.
