Safaricom has cautioned customers against using a website purporting to offer access to its Ziidi Trader platform, warning that the site is fraudulent and has no affiliation with the telecommunications company.

In a customer advisory issued on Wednesday, the company identified https://ziiditrader.com/ as an unauthorized website and urged users not to share personal or financial information through the platform.

“Please note that the website https://ziiditrader.com/ is not a legal or official website, and it has no association with Safaricom,” the company said.

Safaricom warned customers against disclosing sensitive information, including their phone numbers, M-PESA PINs and bank account details, noting that such information could be exploited by fraudsters.

The company said the only authorized way to access the Ziidi Trader platform is through its My OneApp application.

“The official and authorized Ziidi Trader platform can be securely accessed through My OneApp. Safaricom will never ask you for your private credentials,” the company said.

The warning comes amid a rise in online scams targeting mobile money users and digital investors through fake websites and phishing campaigns designed to steal personal information and financial credentials.

Safaricom urged customers to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of online platforms before sharing personal information or making transactions.

The telecommunications firm also encouraged the public to report suspected fraud through SMS code 333 or via the My OneApp under its anti-fraud campaign, #JiulizeNiUkweliAmaNiCon.

The advisory is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to combat cyber fraud and protect customers as digital financial services continue to expand in Kenya.
