16 Startups Feted At Connected Africa Summit 2024 Innovation Awards
16 African startups with transformative solutions in the education, health, logistics, trade, agriculture, creatives and fintech industries have been awarded at the concluded Connected Africa Summit 2024, which took place from 21st- 25th April at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
Nairobi-based Ebikes Africa, which offers sustainable e-mobility solutions to tackle the increasing issues of urban transportation in African capital cities emerged the overall winner in the logistics category while in the EdTech category, Mzizi emerged as the winner, highlighting advancements in educational technology.
Vunapay startup was recognized as the runner-up in the Agritech category, showcasing innovation in agricultural technology as Terralima claimed victory in that category. Under Fintech, Tusenti Startup was the runners-up while Snap-pay secured the top spot.
Trade & Logistics category was won by Apexloads as Ticket Safari came in as the runner-up. In Green Technology tech category, ACL dimensions was the runners-up while Ecomobilus was celebrated as the top.
In the Health Tech category, Signvrs emerged the runner-up as Zuri Health stood at the top. The Creatives category was won by Uamuzi while MymindCapsule came in as the runner-up. In the startup pitching category, Signvrs emerged as the second runner-up and was gifted a check of Ksh.200,000 while Vunapay was the first runner-up getting a boost of Ksh.300,000 and Ebikes emerged as the winner, receiving a check of Ksh.500,000.
The recognition of these startups at the summit underscores Africa’s vibrant tech ecosystem and the potential for growth and development through technology and innovation.
The Connected Africa Summit not only celebrated the achievements of these startups but also fostered networking opportunities and collaborations that will contribute to advancing Africa’s digital economy.
The Connected Africa Summit 2024 provided a platform for African tech leaders, policymakers, and investors to converge and discuss Africa’s ICT priorities in alignment with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The event featured the presence of ICT and Communication Ministers from 35 African nations, along with ambassadors from various regions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving Africa’s digital transformation.
