Meet 32-year-old Water CS Eric Muriithi Muuga From Mithika Linturi’s Village
President William Ruto has appointed 32-year-old Eric Muriithi Muuga as the new Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation.
Muriithi, set to become the youngest CS in Ruto’s government, comes from Athi Market in Meru County, a few kilometres from Linturi’s home.
A Civil Engineer by profession, Muriithi is currently a project engineer at Kilifi Mariakani Water and Sewerage Company Limited in Kilifi County, where he is involved in the design and review of water sanitation works.
He has experience in the operation and management of engineering projects such as water hydraulic modelling, water network design, water treatment plants and water structures.
In addition to his experience in water management, Muriithi holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Water Resources from the University of Nairobi.
He also graduated at the top of his undergraduate class at the University of Nairobi with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Muriithi is also an alumnus of Lenana School. He went to a primary school in Maua in Meru County.
He taught briefly at Kirindine Secondary School in Meru before starting his practice as an engineer.
