Interesting Facts About New Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba

President William Ruto has nominated Julius Migos Ogamba as the new Education Cabinet Secretary.

Ogamba, former Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu’s running mate in the 2022 Kisii gubernatorial race, is now awaiting approval from Parliament to become a CS.

Machogu and Ogamba vied on a UDA party ticket but lost to the current Governor Simba Arati.

Ogamba, a lawyer by profession, also ran for the Kitutu Chache North parliamentary seat in the 2017 election.

In March 2023, Migos was appointed as the new chairman of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) Board.

He succeeded former Chief of Defence Forces of the Kenya Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe in the role.

He has nearly 30 years of legal practice experience.

Ogamba has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Diploma in Law from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London.

He is also a senior partner at Migos Ogamba & Waudo Advocates and a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public, as well as a member of the Kenya Law Society.
