Former NHIF CEO Simeon Kirgotty Arrested Over Ksh1.5 Billion Graft Scandal
Former National Hospital Insurance Fund CEO and Devolution Secretary Simeon ole Kirgotty has been arrested alongside Robert Mureithi (head of Webtribe) and Gilbert Gathuo (Head of ICT) over Sh1.5 Billion graft.
The three were picked up from their Nairobi homes and are currently being held at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road.
In another scandal, the NHIF CEO Geoffrey Mwangi and finance director Wilbert Kurgat were arrested in connection to a Ksh400 million saga.
The sum was paid out for a medical scheme for civil servants, police and prison officers to two bidders against an order by the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board.
Britam Life Assurance Company (K) Ltd and Pioneer Assurance Company Ltd were awarded the tender, despite being the highest bidders.

The two were on Wednesday released on a Ksh1 million bond each and a surety of similar a amount. Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi also gave them an option of Ksh500,000 cash bail.
Mr Mwangi was replaced with Mr Nicodemus Odongo who has been serving as the director in charge of strategy, planning and Marketing while Kurgat was replaced by Bernard Njenga, who has been the manager in charge of management and accounting.
It was reported that Jambopay CEO Mr Danson Muchemi, went into hiding after the two were arrested.
Jambopay owns the Webtribe Limited, a firm the agency is alleged to have fraudulently advanced hundreds of millions of shillings in the scandal.
